The magnetic configuratios of the double perovskites

Definition

The general formula of the double perovslite is A2(BB’)O6, where A stands for an alkali-earth metal and B, B’ are transition metals of the first and second (or third) rows.

Crystal structure

The double perovskites occured in four structures:

- The high symmetry structure: the cubic Fm[3 with combining macron]m.

- The intermediate structures: the tetragonal I4/m  and the rhomohedral R[3 with combining macron].

Tetragonal structure

- the low symmetry structure: the monoclinic P21/n.
